Biomedical Engineering Education Program

Specialty G22 Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a modern area of training aimed at solving engineering problems in the fields of medicine, biology, ecology, and healthcare. It focuses on training specialists in the development, service, and management of medical devices, systems, and technologies to improve the quality of diagnostics, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Modern information technologies combined with skills in the field of modern microelectronics are the basic knowledge that the applicant receives. The master’s program is aimed at deepening the knowledge of bachelors in areas specific to biomedical engineering, namely:
  • Development of portable medical devices,
  • Creation of new devices for the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of diseases, such as MRI, CT, and artificial respiration devices,
  • Development and study of biomaterials used in medicine for implants, prostheses, and transplants.
  • Nanotechnology in medical practice,
  • Information analytical systems for medical purposes,
  • Software applications and information technologies in medicine,
  • Machine vision systems,
  • and others.

A biomedical engineer is a specialist who is engaged in the development, design, production and implementation of medical devices and technologies. A master in this field is not only a medical equipment engineer, but a specialist who acquires research skills in the industry. Therefore, a biomedical engineer is not only a specialist in the maintenance, repair and operation of medical equipment, a sales manager for medical equipment, a consultant in the operation and implementation of medical technologies, but also a developer of modern systemic solutions that combines information and engineering knowledge of software and hardware. As a researcher in the field of biomedical engineering, he can engage in scientific research in the field of developing new medical technologies. Be involved in cooperation with doctors to implement new technologies in clinical practice.
Biomedical engineering is a dynamically developing field that has great potential to improve the quality of people’s lives and expand the possibilities of medicine.
