Educational Program Computer Systems and Networks

Educational Program Computer Systems and Networks

Choose a future that works for you!

Specialists are trained at the Department of Electronic Computing of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. The Department cooperates with universities in Spain, France, Germany, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland and other European countries, which gives applicants the opportunity to:

    • participate in exchange and double degree programs;
    • get involved in European grant initiatives (Erasmus+, Horizon);
    • undergo international internships and participate in joint research.

Study and work at the same time

The master’s program is adapted to the realities of modern life – you can combine study with work in your specialty. A flexible schedule and practice-oriented tasks allow you not to choose between a career and education – development is carried out in two directions at the same time.

The educational and professional program “Computer Systems and Networks” is not just about codes – it is about creating smart software and hardware systems, optimizing computer networks, system software and drivers, IoT and cyber-physical systems.

A feature of the program is the combination of theoretical training with practical skills in designing and maintaining modern computer systems and networks. The emphasis is on creating software and hardware solutions, infrastructures and services that can effectively process information, manage processes in cyber-physical systems, local and global networks, IT infrastructures and the Internet of Things. The program covers the study of architectures, interfaces, interaction protocols, and modern approaches to implementing secure, mobile, energy-efficient, and intelligent, adaptive, and high-performance computing.

Idea – startup, science – project!

An ambitious idea or an interesting technical solution will have real opportunities for development, because you have the opportunity to:

work as part of scientific teams;
participate in grant-funded interdisciplinary scientific, scientific and applied projects in the areas of MilTech (military technologies), MedTech (medical technologies), GreenTech / EcoTech (green technologies), EdTech (educational technologies), Smart City, AssistiveTech (technologies for people with disabilities);
present your solutions at startup competitions and hackathons;
improve communication in English by speaking at scientific conferences and publishing articles.

By studying at the OPP “Computer Systems and Networks”, you will acquire integral competencies to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions, during professional activities in the field of information technologies or in the process of education and scientific research.

We teach:

  1. To design, analyze and improve computer systems and networks
  • To determine the technical characteristics and features of computer systems and networks for various purposes;
  • To build their architecture taking into account modern requirements for efficiency, security and scalability;
  • To develop system and application software for embedded, distributed and mobile applications;
  • To model and analyze the functioning of networks in various scenarios, to determine the limits of their efficiency;
  • To implement modern technologies (smart, green, cloud, secure computing) in projects of varying complexity.
  1. To solve technical problems of a critical level of complexity
  • To apply engineering and scientific approaches to solving complex problems in the field of computer engineering;
  • To build system models and conduct simulation, mathematical, parallel calculations;
  • To use methods for detecting threats and protecting information;
  • To implement high-performance computing technologies in heterogeneous environments.
  1. Work in teams and implement interdisciplinary projects
  • design computer systems taking into account technical, legal, economic and social aspects;
  • analyze risks, choose effective solutions, work in multidisciplinary teams;
  • maintain technical documentation and prepare project reports.
  1. Communicate effectively
  • present development results, create technical reports, publish scientific articles;
  • speak at conferences, participate in professional discussions;
  • communicate fluently in Ukrainian and foreign languages in an IT environment.
  1. Research, implement and innovate
  • plan and implement engineering and research projects;
  • use modern approaches to analysis and critical thinking of technological solutions;
  • form your own ideas, turning them into startups, innovations or scientific developments;
  • increase the efficiency and security of systems at all stages of the life cycle.

Experience is power!

After graduation, you will be able to continue your scientific career in postgraduate studies in an interesting and useful direction.
