National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine On January 18, a working meeting was held with partners from the Institute of Medical Radiology and Oncology named after A.I. S. P. Grigoriev of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Head of the Department of Radiation Therapy, Chairman of the Committee on Bioethics and Deontology, Doctor of Medical Sciences, member of the European Society of Radiation Oncologists Viktor Starenkiy and Head of the Laboratory of Radiation Cytogenetics, Doctor of Biological Sciences Natalia Maznik.
The Institute of Medical Radiology and Oncology is the main stakeholder of the department – the base for student practice, a place of employment, joint scientific and clinical research related to the development of medical imaging technologies, radiation therapy and the improvement of chromosome analysis methods.
In view of the fact that the department makes a significant contribution to the University’s performance in THE Impact Rankings precisely through partnership with medical institutions, during the meeting the prospects for further cooperation, the preparation of joint scientific publications and competencies in the preparation of future PhDs in specialty 163 – biomedical engineering were discussed. Students and graduates of the department work at the Institute of Medical Radiology and Oncology on a full-time basis and on a volunteer basis. Therefore, an action plan to ensure progress towards SDG 3 Good health and well-being is also considered.
