A memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Novovodolazhsky Academic Lyceum “Start-IT”

A joint distance learning project between NURE and Novovodolazky Sanatorium School has been running for over 15 years. This project was created for orphaned children and children deprived of parental care, with organisational and financial support from AHMAD TEA.

Today, the school offers three areas of study: Humanities, Biotechnology, and Information Technology.

The Information Technology programme opens the door to IT, programming, digital systems, and innovation. Pupils gain modern knowledge and practical skills that meet the requirements of the real market. A particular advantage of this profile is the cooperation with NURE, one of the leading technical universities in Ukraine.

Education in the information technology profile includes:

  • Basics of programming (Python, Java, C++);
  • Working with algorithms, databases, and web technologies;
  • Introduction to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, computer networks;
  • Practical classes, master classes and projects with NURE teachers;
  • Participation in hackathons, Olympiads, IT forums.

Distance learning courses are free for all students, regardless of their social status.

On 26 June 2025, based on the decision of the Kharkiv Regional Council dated 26 June 2025 No. 1221-VIII, “Novovodolazky Sanatorium School” was officially reorganised into the Communal Institution “Novovodolazky Academic Lyceum “START-IT” of Kharkiv Regional Council.

In regard to the reorganisation, the rector of NURE, Ihor Ruban, met with the acting director Novovodolazky Academic Lyceum ‘START-IT’, Larysa Kalashnyk. They discussed areas for further cooperation, continuous education for gifted students, developing their creative abilities, and identifying students’ interests in information technology subjects.
A memorandum of cooperation was signed, opening up new opportunities for the popularisation of IT among young people.
