Education and Career

In 1980 he graduated from the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics specialty “Automated control systems”.

Ph.D. – 1987. Thesis defended  18 December 1987 at the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics.

Doctor of  Sciences  – 2005. Thesis defended February 25, 2005 in Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics.  Specialty 05.13.06 – automated control systems and progressive information technologies. The subject of thesis – Multi-agent technologies of integration heterogeneous information systems and distributed databases.

Professor of artificial intelligence since 2006. The main stages of pedagogical activity:

  • September 14, 1989 – Assistant, April 15, 1992 – Lecturer, Department of Technical Cybernetics, Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics.
  • On September 1, 1993 – Associate Professor, Department of Technical Cybernetics (Since 1999 – Department of Artificial Intelligence).
  • On September 1, 2005 to 2014 – Professor of the Department of Artificial Intelligence.
  • On December 8, 2014 to present – Head of Artificial Intelligence Department.

Educational activity

Teaches courses: “Models and Data Structures”, “Fundamentals of database systems and knowledge”, “Information systems in management”, “Intranet technology”, “Tools of design information systems”, “Database Management Systems”, “Information Technology in computer systems “,”Artificial Intelligence Systems “.


Social activities

Сarried professional examination of higher education standard on specialty 126 “Information Systems and Technologies” for undergraduate (bachelor) level of higher education.

Research activities

From 1998 to 2012 he served as head of the research laboratory of system technologies. As part of the state budget R & D was involved in research projects: “Information-analytical system” Elections“, ”Development of information and analytical system for Emergency Situations of Poltava region“, ”Development of information-analytical system with distributed artificial intelligence “University”, “Development of models and means for integrating heterogeneous information systems and distributed databases”.

Since September 1, 2005 – scientific director of the Center for Information Systems and Technologies.

Member of «Automated control systems and automation equipment» and «Innovative Technologies and Scientific Solutions for Industries» editorial boards.

Member of International Programme Committee Scientific and Technical conference «Computer Sciences and Information Technologies».

Research interests: Distributed databases, multi-agent systems, information systems, data-mining.


International activity / participation in international projects

In 2000 participated in the project TEMPUS-UM_CP-20560-1999 for the use of the European system of educational loans (EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS)) in the system of higher education in Ukraine.

2020 – participated in the project H2020-MSCA-RISE-2020 «Deep Intelligent Optical and Radio Communication Networks» (DIOR).


State Awards

2005 – Commendation of Chairman Kharkiv Regional State Administration.

2010 – Certificate of Honor Ministry of Education and Science Ukraine.

2012 – Diploma Education and Science Department of Regional State Administration.

2019 – KHOGA Scholarship in Informatics and Computer Science named after V.V. Sviridov.

2021 – Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine.

Has over 200 publications, including 12 monographs, an inventor’s certificate, learning book.
