Within the framework of industry programs, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) promotes international cooperation projects and events for international exchange of experience. Budgetary funds are usually intended to finance the share of the German partner. However, under certain conditions, it is possible to finance orders placed by the German side by foreign partners.
Support for joint research projects
BMBF has special funds to promote international cooperation, which makes it possible to finance the costs of referral, admission of scientists and specialized technical personnel in the preparation and implementation of joint research projects. Full and partial financing of a cooperation project is not allowed. However, a limited provision of wearable items (devices and materials) for foreign partners is possible.
Promotion of research cooperation of small and medium-sized enterprises
This program allows small and medium-sized German enterprises with a maximum number of employees of up to 500 people to apply for R&D cooperation with a foreign partner to:
– joint projects with other enterprises;
– orders of scientific works to research institutions;
– exchange of research personnel with research institutions;
– joint projects between enterprises of the new federal states and research institutions.
Only German partners are eligible to apply. More information on the activities and ongoing competitions of the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Technology can be obtained at the following address: http://www.bmbf.de
