Quantum-Driven Security in Emerging 5G Networking

Project number:  G-202105-67836.

Partners: the University of Colorado Springs, Colorado State, USA, and NURE, Ukraine.

Duration: July 2021 – July 2022.

The project aims to perform analysis, design, build and apply quantum-computing and quantum-resistant methods to protect 5G networks which quickly have been appearing in people’s lives since 2018.

Project participants can make a significant investment in researching methods for securing 5G networks in three thrusts:

  • to secure the quantum key distribution, by improving the modeling, and analyzing the security of current quantum computing technologies;
  • to design and to develop a plan, create a post-quantum public-key cipher based on logarithmic signatures and empirical verification using theoretical and practical approaches;
  • to apply, use and integrate the developed quantum-key distribution schemes and post-quantum cipher solutions to the emerging 5G networking to verify the practicality and effectiveness of the research solutions.
