Two classic Ukrainian powerlifting championships have recently come to an end. In Khmelnytsky, bench press competitions took place, and in Kolomyia (Ivano-Frankivsk region) – a triathlon tournament. The first-year student of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics Vira Popruga took part in both championships and competed in the weight category “84+” among girls (under 18). According to the results of the competition, the athlete became:
– the champion of Ukraine on a classical barbell press lying down;
– silver medalist (“big medal”) of the Ukrainian championship in classical powerlifting – triathlon;
– silver medalist (“small medal”) of the Ukrainian championship in classical powerlifting – squats with a barbell;
– silver medalist (“small medal”) of the championship of Ukraine in classical powerlifting – barbell bench press;
– silver medalist (“small medal”) of the Ukrainian championship in classical powerlifting – traction;
In powerlifting Vira Popruga is:
– two-time champion of Ukraine in classical powerlifting among girls;
– the record holder of the Dnepropetrovsk region with results that exceeded records of Ukraine among girls in the disciplines of “squats with a barbell” and “posture traction”.
