Scientists of the Department of Biomedical Engineering took part in a workshop on international scientific cooperation between Ukraine and Germany, which was organized on the basis of the Institute of Multiphase Processes of the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover.
The workshop was moderated by the Director of the Institute Professor Birgit Glasmacher.
The Department was represented by the Head of the Department Professor Oleg Avrunin, Professor Yuriy Zholudov and Senior Lecturer Maksym Tymkovych. Professor Avrunin made a report on the results of the study of nose aerodynamics in joint Ukrainian-German research projects, which were carried out in 2019-2021 with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and BMBF of Germany. The project was attended by teachers of the department Yana Nosova and Maksym Tymkovych, as well as students of the group BIBMI-18-1 Olga Isaeva and Anastasia Kovaleva. The report noted the long-term (almost 13 years) partnership with the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University of Hannover, the results of the preparation of models for 3D printing of the nasal cavity from materials that simulate various physical properties of this anatomical area, and the prospects of work. Professor Yuriy Zholudov also made a presentation on electrically generated chemiluminescence in film modification of electrodes for electroanalytical applications.
Also from other scientists from Ukraine and Germany were interesting reports on models of lung diseases, possible mechanisms of alginate resistance of encapsulated mesenchymal stromal cells for storage at ambient temperature and others.
Such events are aimed at summarizing the current results of joint research projects and promote the development of international cooperation and internationalization of research.
