Professor Yevheniy Putiatin passed away

On January 12, 2020, at the age of 79, stopped the heart of a prominent Ukrainian scientist, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, winner of the S.I.Mosin Prize, Head of the Department of Informatics, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Yevheniy Putiatin.

In 1963, Yevheniy Petrovich became a lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering, and since 1964 – the Department of Mathematical Modeling at the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics.  In 1967 he successfully defended his thesis on “Mathematical models of color vision and their technical applications” and received a Ph.D., and in 1974 he defended his doctoral thesis on “Mathematical models of image normalization and their technical applications”.  In 1977, Yevheniy Petrovich founded and headed the Computer Application  Department (the last 20 years – the Informatics Department).  High professional knowledge, creative dedication and principle have allowed Professor Putiatin at a high level to lead not only the educational process, but also to achieve significant results of scientific activity.
Yevheniy Petrovich was the author of more than 200 scientific publications, including 12 textbooks, 5 monographs, 38 inventions and patents.
The NURE team led by Rector Valerii Semenets feels great sorrow and expresses condolences to the family, relatives and colleagues of Yevheniy Petrovich.

Farewell will take place in the NURE yard on 14.01.2020 at 11:00.
A memorial service will be held at the Slobozhansky Memorial Complex at 1:00 PM.
