Professor of the Department of BMI, Ekaterina Muzyka, became an invited speaker in an interactive online meeting dedicated to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, organized by the Center for Gender Culture, which was held in partnership with the Department of Science and Education of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
Talking about her journey from a student of the Novovolynsk Electromechanical College to a professor at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Top University of Ukraine – NURE, Muzyka Ekaterina sought to dispel the fear among the audience of schoolgirls, future applicants, about gender stereotypes about the participation of women in the exact sciences.
The main purpose of the interactive is to emphasize once again the equality of participation of women and girls in science and to update the topics of participation in the scientific communities of the school period of education not only boys but also girls.
During the event, children’s videos of last year’s festival “Equality in Science through the Eyes of Children” were shown, which won. In the final part of the meeting, the interactive participants answered the questions received.
Such activities contribute to the goals of sustainable development, namely gender equality, in particular in technical professions and science.
