At the age of 82, the heart of an outstanding scientist, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, Professor of the Department of Biomedical Engineering of Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Applied Radio Electronics, excellent student of education of Ukraine Anatoly Ivanovich Bykh stopped.
Professor Bykh began his pedagogical activity in 1966. He taught courses: the use of electronic devices, electronic and semiconductor devices, the theoretical foundations of electrical engineering, the basics of electrical engineering and electronics, etc. He developed and introduced new courses: optoelectronics, the physical foundations of functional electronics. He took an active part in the creation of the first specialty in Ukraine – electronic medical equipment. Also, from 1996 to 2017, he was the head of the department of the first in Ukraine specialty “Biomedical Engineering.

Anatoly Bykh was the founder of the scientific direction in the field of liquid electronics – optochemotronics. His scientific school for the study of a new physical phenomenon – electrochemiluminescence (EHL) – has existed since 1968. Under the guidance of the scientist, the theoretical foundations of the EHL, methods for converting, storing, processing and transmitting information, as well as EHL analyzers of liquids and solid electrically conductive bodies have been developed.

Since 2002, under the leadership of Academician Bykh , international conferences “Problems of Biomedical Engineering. Science and Technology “within the framework of the International Electronic Forum. For many years, the scientist was also deputy chairman of the NMK “Biomedical Engineering,” deputy chairman and member of specialized scientific councils for the defense of doctoral and master’s theses.

In the scientific refinement of Professor Anatoly Bykh – more than 320 scientific and scientific-methodological works, of which 6 monographs, 9 teaching aids in the field of electrical engineering and electronics.

Significant contributions of Anatoly Ivanovich to the development of Ukrainian science were awarded with many awards: honorary badges of the Ministry of Education of Ukraine “Excellence in Education of Ukraine” and “For scientific achievements,” diplomas “Winner of the competition NURE – the best in the specialty,” diplomas of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, MES of Ukraine, as well as NAMN of Ukraine.

The team of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, headed by the Rector Valerii Semenets, expresses deep sorrow and condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Anatoly Ivanovich Bykh .
