NURE employees participated in Training for representatives of non-governmental organizations from the European Social Charter

On April 28, 2021, employees of the Special Training and Rehabilitation Department for students with special educational needs at the invitation of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine took part in a training for representatives of non-governmental organizations on the European Social Charter and its use in Ukraine. The training was conducted within the framework of the Council of Europe Project: “Development of Social Human Rights as a Key Factor of Sustainable Democracy in Ukraine”.

During the training the basic rights of persons with disabilities within the framework of the European Social Charter were considered:

– Protection of persons with disabilities in international law. Council of Europe policy on people with disabilities.

– Fundamental rights of persons with disabilities under the European Social Charter. Prohibition of discrimination. The right to independence, to social integration, to participation in society. Providing the state with access to transport, state and public buildings, housing, cultural institutions, recreation.

– Educational rights of persons with disabilities.

– Rights of persons with disabilities in the field of labor and employment.

– Fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations under 15 European Social Charter. Analysis of the recommendations of the European Committee of Social Rights of Ukraine.

The training was attended by representatives of public authorities, higher educational institutions of Ukraine, and international organizations.
