On 19-20 October, the 1/4 finals of the international programming competition ICPC 2024 took place online. The Eastern region of Ukraine was represented by 67 teams from 15 schools and 52 universities. In particular, 8 teams competed from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics (KhNURE): KhNURE_KoRoVa!, KhNURE_Klammerjager, KhNURE_Last_dance, KhNURE_SS_Vechur_One_Love, KhNURE_LLlyMePeHKu, KhNURE_Cephalon, KhNURE_Algorithmic_Alchemists, KhNURE_Parm&Ko. There were also 7 teams from NTU ‘KhPI’, 2 teams from KhAI, 4 teams from DSTU, 3 teams from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and others.
The university teams took part in the qualifying stage, competing in solving complex algorithmic problems. The online format did not hinder the high level of preparation of the participants, who showed excellent skills and team cohesion. Now the best teams are heading to the semi-finals, where they will compete for the ICPC World Finals.
The team KhNURE_KoRoVa! consisting of Valeriia Hrynenko, Kostiantyn Denysov and Roman Pitsura, won the first place in the Eastern region. Congratulations to the students and their coach, Associate Professor of the Department of SE O.V. Vechura.
