NURE students won the SmartCity Hackathon

The first GL SmartCity Hackathon students’ online marathon took place in early October. A team of students from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, consisting of Stanislav Kholodov, Anastasia Koidan and Alexander Vasilyev, won the marathon with the project “Pedestrian Crossing, which signals the presence of pedestrians and cars.”

During the two-day online marathon, students from Lviv, Kharkiv and Kyiv developed a number of projects that could improve the city’s infrastructure and quality of life.
Among the works of the finalists:
– “smart” barrier for contactless train;
– chatbot to search for free parking spaces;
– pedestrian crossing, which signals the presence of pedestrians and cars;
– system for detecting violations of traffic rules and crossing a solid line, etc.
