On May 18-25, Tokyo (Japan) hosted the world powerlifting championship, which was attended by more than 1,000 representatives of different countries. Athletes of the national team of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics in powerlifting were a part of the national team of Ukraine.
So, the athlete of NURE Michael Yastrebov in the fight against the representative teams of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a result of 125 kg in the weight category of 53 kg won the silver medal at the World championship 2019.
In addition, Alena Didyuk took part in international competitions for the first time. Under the guidance of the coach, senior lecturer of the Department of Physical Education of NURE Natalia Didyuk athlete took the IInd place with the result of 72.5 kg bench press.
