NURE Academic Council approved the results of the KPI calculation

04.02.2025

At the Academic Council of NURE meeting on 4 February, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) were approved to calculate the additional funding for the departments for 2025.

The distribution of funds according to the KPI system remains an effective, innovative tool for encouraging and rewarding a specific result. This is a unique achievement of NURE as a leading Ukrainian higher education institution to ensure sustainable development, achieve SDG 8 ‘Decent Work and Economic Growth’ and promote the university’s image.
The distribution of finances according to the system of key performance indicators (KPIs) affects the efficiency of the departments and motivates them to achieve their goals. When funding for departments is tied to KPIs, it encourages faculty and administration to work towards specific goals, such as improving the quality of teaching, research achievements, attracting grants, etc. The KPI system creates healthy competition between departments, which fosters innovation and enhanced results. KPI indicators are clearly defined, take into account both quantitative and qualitative aspects of work and are objectively assessed, which ensures transparency in the allocation of funds. KPIs allow the university to focus on achieving strategic goals, such as rising in world university rankings. Departments that perform well in terms of KPIs receive more funding, which allows them to develop faster.
The funds in 2025 will be allocated depending on the scale of the department’s educational activities (contingent of students of all levels of higher education), publication activity of research and teaching staff (scientometric indicators from the Scopus and WoS), research results, financial capacity of the departments and contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals.
