Net Zero on Campus

Benchmarking department staff joined a webinar dedicated to the Net Zero on Campus initiative to decarbonise university campuses.

A growing number of universities around the world are recognising the need to tackle climate change and are committed to achieving zero carbon emissions.
As colleges and universities across the world continue to commit to reach net-zero emissions, it is crucial that lessons and resources are shared to accelerate campus decarbonisation efforts worldwide.

That’s why UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), Monash University’s Energy Institute, and Climateworks Centre, in collaboration with an advisory panel composed of experts from various universities worldwide, developed the Net Zero on Campus initiative. The initiative aims to equip colleges and universities with the knowledge and tools they need to accelerate their climate action plans, while creating new communities of practice among them.

It is to be noted that 1501 participants have already joined the Net Zero on Campus initiative, including 7 Ukrainian institutions.
