Introduction to Programme Software Engineering

We continue the series of classes “Introduction to IT speciality 121 Software Engineering (Software Engineering)” in the direction of “The basics of Linux architecture” from the Software Engineering Department of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. During the summer months (July-August) there were eight classes, in which the students had time to get acquainted with Linux and consider its architecture in practice on a separate server.
As a result, the following topics were covered:
1. The history of the GNU/Linux OS. The Unix project. Operating systems: Unix System V, BSD and others. The GNU project. The POSIX standard. GNU GPL license. GNU/Linux distributions.
2. Remote operation. The man help system and others.
3. The file system. FHS file location unification. File system objects Commands to work with FHS objects.
4. Users and processes of the operating system.
5. Creating scripts for the Bash shell.
The lesson is conducted by senior lecturer of the SE Department Sokorchuk I.P., coordinator Associate Professor Rusakova N.E. Pupils from Kharkiv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Transcarpathian regions signed up for the course.
