On December 10, the international community celebrates Human Rights Day. It was on this day in 1948 that the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the first universal international human rights instrument.
The provisions of the Declaration have become the legal basis for the standards adopted by the Council of Europe and for the improvement of national legal systems that guarantee strict and consistent respect for human rights.
Section II of the Constitution of Ukraine of 1996 enshrines the rights, freedoms and responsibilities of man and citizen, which meet the standards of the declaration and other international legal acts. The provisions of the Declaration have become the norms of direct action for modern domestic legislation.
As part of the International Action “16 Days Against Gender-Based Violence”, the CGE of NURE held an educational event dedicated to this date.
