University scientific-educational laboratory “Network technologies”

Directions for the activities of the laboratory.

  • providing support for the educational process at the university by providing the resources of the laboratory of network technologies;
  • development of new didactic technologies and use of laboratory research results in the organization of course, diploma design, conducting laboratory workshops and research student work;
  • implementation of research activities in the field of “Network Technologies” by developing and implementing new information technologies, administration technologies, managing the resources of network information systems;
  • development of information technologies to improve the efficiency of resource usage in computer networks and to improve the quality of user services;
  • cooperation and exchange of experience with foreign IT companies through participation in scientific and technical conferences, hackatons and seminars

Existing achievements over the past 5 years:
Cooperation:

International Association FRUCT (fruct.org), company Parallax inc. (Canada), company ProfitSoft, university Jyväskylä (Finland), company IBM, participation in the program IBM Academic Initiative.

In 2017 on the initiative of the Department. ICS between KNURE and IBM Ukraine was signed “Memorandum of Understanding”. Direction of IBM Internet of Things, Cloud Computing and Big Data.

Grants:

  • Nokia – FRUCT (2013) specialized mobile device “developer kit Nokia N950”.
  • Paralax inc. (Canada) 2016 components and devices in the Internet of Things.
  • 2015 \ 16 from Microsoft received a personal grant (V. Saenko) for 1 year in the amount of $ 250 monthly (per year) and grants for 40 students in the amount of $ 100 monthly (for six months) for each.

In 2015, an academic grant was received to train 80 students on IBM Bluemix technologies and access to IBM Cloud resources.

Participation in projects:

  • FRUCT – KhNURE – Collaboration in the development of mobile applications for Adroid in the direction of Healthcare for Adroid.

The program “Mobility – Two Diplomas”:

  • 2012-2014 students Tkachenko A., Halin V. have continued their studies in the Master’s program of mobility at the University of Jyväskylä (2012-2014), student A. Dvoretsky (2013-2014) – at the University of Linneus, Sweden.

Conferences and Certifications

  • for the period from 2013 to 2017, more than 15 papers were presented at scientific international conferences in Finland. FRUCT 17, FRUCT 18, FRUCT 20 (2017), FRUCT 21 (2017), FRUCT 22 (2018).
  • in 2016, 2017, a program of integrated testing of students on IBM Cloud technologies was conducted within the framework of the discipline “Computer networks”, the department. IСS. More than 30 students received Academic certificates from IBM.

Prospective directions for which scientific research is planned.

  • Development of technologies for designing, maintaining and optimizing cloud computing systems;
  • Development of technologies for designing, maintaining and optimizing Internet of Things systems in interaction with cloud services;
  • Development of technologies for using existing cloud services IBM Cloud Bluemix, Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS;
  • Coordination and optimization in the management of computer resources in distributed systems based on Internet of Things;
  • Integration of new technologies Cloud Computing, Internet of Things in the educational process.
