- The full name of the laboratory is “Controllers, microcontrollers and microprocessor devices and systems in EA” – 405 “i”.

3.1 Study direction.
The laboratory was established in 1986 in connection with the introduction of the preparation of students into the curriculum, the formulation and reading of the disciplines “The use of microprocessors in the construction and technology of electronic equipment”, “Microprocessors and microcomputers in the REB”. Over the years of the laboratory’s existence, thanks to the efforts of the staff, its material base has repeatedly been almost completely re-equipped, constantly being updated, so that at any given time it was equipped with modern microprocessor equipment.
Currently, the laboratory is designed to conduct laboratory workshops, practical exercises, independent work in the following disciplines: “Fundamentals of controller programming”, “Computing and microprocessor tools”, “Microcontrollers in embedded systems”, “Intelligent radio electronics and systems”, “Electronic equipment for the intelligent home”, “Electronic equipment of intellectual technology”, “Industrial controllers”, “Computer simulation”, as well as to complete graduation projects, masters their work and research work of students.
3.2 Research area
The main activities of the laboratory:
– carrying out laboratory, practical and independent work of students on microcontroller and microprocessor-related topics;
– carrying out laboratory, practical and independent work of students on industrial controllers and HMI;
– conducting laboratory, practical and independent work of students on wireless sensor networks;
– carrying out optional programming of microcontrollers with the involvement of employees of leading IT companies (EKTOS, Global Logic, SAS Automation, ELAKS)
– preparation of students for participation in international and All-Ukrainian competitions on programming microcontrollers and PLC;
– constant participation in competitions Xplore New Automation Award from the German company Phoenix Contact Gmb & Co. KG, like the EduNet lab;
– carrying out research and development work on wireless sensor networks and IoT;
– conducting research on the creation of UAVs and flying sensor networks;
– carrying out research works on industrial IoT (IIoT);
– conducting round tables of APPAU (Association of Enterprises for Industrial Automation Ukraine)

- Laboratory equipment:
The laboratory has 12 PC workstations equipped with ML-1 and ML-2 training complexes based on the ATmega 128 microcontroller, seven seats are equipped with industrial logic controllers from Phoenix Contact Gmb & co. KG. with Automation Worx (PC WORX, PC WORX EPRESS, Web Visit, OPC Server, Visu +, Wireless Simulation tools for PLC). There is a compiler of language C Codevision 7, 5 and 4, software simulators MCS-51 studio and AVR studio, Eclipse KDE, IAR for Zigbee, Composer Studio. All workplaces are integrated into a local network with the ability to access the Internet, there is a projection technique and the necessary electronic versions of the lecture material necessary for it.
The laboratory has an information and training system, including a full-fledged training course on the discipline “Computational and Microprocessor-based Means” with the possibility of remote laboratory work, including admission to its implementation and without paper electronic technology for submitting a report, testing by sections and the entire course. This development is universal, cross-platform and time-efficient at work both in local and global networks. Test questions for admission to laboratory work and testing of students, 250 tasks for individual performance of laboratory practical exercises have been developed for this electronic manual. For independent work of students in all disciplines, a database of electronic teaching materials and a library of literary sources has been created; it has more than 170 titles.
The laboratory has repeatedly won prizes in competitions “KNURE-best specialty” and was awarded the winner of diplomas.
From December 17, 2010, the EduNet laboratory of the German company Phoenix Contact GmbH & Co. began to operate on the basis of the KM IPS laboratory. KG ”, which allowed the students of the Department of DOED to begin the practical study of PLCs based on the ILC 130 Starterkit stands, designed to teach controller programming based on the IEC 61131-3 programming languages. The software of the stands allows programming the controllers of the 100th family of Phoenix Contact GmbH & co. KG by creating flowcharts for the operation of a PLC in PC WORX or PC WORX EPRESS. Such automation tools are used in automated process control systems (APCS), “Smart Home” systems, dispatching and control systems.
