The international day of women and girls in science, which is celebrated on February, 11 by UNESCO and UN with the aim facilitate full and equal access and participation of women and girls in science.

Gender equality is a global priority for UNESCO. The support of young girls, their education and full ability to make their ideas real are levers for development and peace.

To address some crucial issues on the Agenda of sustainable development (Agenda for Sustainable Development) – from improved health to the fight against climate change – will depend on the use of all the talents by attracting an increasing number of women who work in these areas. A variety of scientific research expands the range of talented women researchers to bring new perspectives, talent and creativity. This day is a reminder that women and girls play a crucial role in the scientific and technical communities and that their participation should be strengthened.
