On December 12, the assembly hall of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics hosted a reporting and election conference of the primary Trade Union organization, during which members heard a report from the Union Chairman Andriy Frolov on the results of work and re-elected the leadership, members of commissions, as well as delegates to the Kharkiv regional organization of Trade Unions of education and Science Workers of Ukraine.
The main legal documents on which the work of the Trade Union committee is based are:
- Law of Ukraine “On Trade Unions, Their Rights and Guarantees of Activity”;
- Charter of the Trade Union of educators and scientists of Ukraine;
- Statute of NURE;
- Law “On Education”, “On Higher Education”, “On Labor Protection”;
- Collective agreement (New concluded for 2019 – 2022);
- Regulations on NURE PTU and others.
The existing legal framework allows Trade Unions to solve their statutory tasks, in view of which the Trade Union committee has formulated the following main areas of work:
– organizational work;
– socio-economic and socio-domestic issues;
– legal protection of Trade Union members;
– cultural and sports work;
– work with children, war and labor veterans, university retirees;
– recovery and rest;
– labor protection;
– patronage of boarding school children.
In accordance with these areas of work, permanent commissions were established, which work as part of the Trade Union committee. One of them is responsible for the protection of labor, socio-economic rights and interests of Trade Union members.
In addition to these commissions, formed of Trade Union members, there are also commissions involving delegated Trade Union representatives.
First, these are the commissions whose activities are provided for in the Statute of the Trade Union and the relevant laws:
- on social insurance;
- on labor disputes.
In his report Frolov A.V. specially noted that in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, namely – to promote sustainable, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full employment and decent work for all – the University’s salaries are growing steadily.
