On July 17 the official opening ceremony of the European University Games – 2022 took place. The Atlas Arena, the main sports arena in Lodz, Poland, could hardly accommodate those who wanted to attend the opening of the sports festival.
This year, the European University Games are attended by about 5000 athletes from 40 countries, representing 400 universities of their countries. Ukraine is represented by 234 students from 45 leading universities of the country, including the student of NURE Yelizaveta Khristenko.
Yelizaveta’s way to these competitions was difficult: on February 12 she won the finals of the Universiade in taekwondo WTF, and after the beginning of a total aggression of Russia against Ukraine during the bombing of Kharkiv she was wounded, she was treated for a while and could not train. Now in Poland she is doing a hard preparation for the competitions and at the same time she is taking exams for the spring session and in this difficult time she needs the spiritual support of each of us.
Let’s cheer for all of us! Ukraine will win!
