Educational Program of Informatics

The educational and professional program “Informatics” of the second level of higher education is focused on providing students with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge that belongs to the field of informatics, which will enable them to effectively conduct research and carry out the development of intelligent, informational, expert systems and decision support systems, including web-based, as well as the needs of employers for qualified specialists in the field of information technologies.

This educational and professional program develops promising areas of computer science in the field of information technology, in-depth knowledge of neural network training, data mining, information and knowledge, knowledge extraction in the Web space, data classification and clustering, and business intelligence. The emphasis of this program is made on the formation of a specialist able to solve complex problems related to mathematical modeling of processes and objects of various nature at the research level of professional activity.

A graduate of the educational and qualification level “Master” in the educational and professional program “Informatics” will possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems in the field of information technologies involving the application of theories and methods of computer science and are characterized by complexity and uncertainty of conditions.

 Basic skills and competencies that the Master will have in the educational and professional program “Informatics”:

  • the ability to build logical conclusions, use of formal languages and models of algorithmic calculations, design, development and analysis of algorithms, evaluation of their effectiveness and complexity, solvability and insolubility of algorithmic problems for adequate modeling of subject areas and the creation of software and information systems;
  • the ability to implement a formalized description of the tasks of researching operations in organizational, technical, and socio-economic systems for various purposes, determining their optimal solutions, building models of optimal management choices, taking into account changes in the parameters of the economic situation, optimizing management processes in various systems and hierarchy levels;
  • the ability to apply theoretical and practical principles of methodology and modeling technology, implement modeling algorithms to study the characteristics and behavior of complex objects and systems, conduct experiments using a modeling program with processing and analysis of results;
  • the ability to design and develop software using various programming paradigms: generalized, object-oriented, functional, logical, with appropriate models, methods and algorithms for computing, data structures and control mechanisms;
  • the ability to implement a multi-level computing model based on a client-server architecture, including databases, data warehouses and a knowledge base, to meet the computational needs of many users, processing transactions, including on cloud services;
  • the ability to apply methodologies, technologies and tools for managing the life cycle processes of information and software systems, information technology products and services in accordance with customer requirements;
  • the ability for intelligent multidimensional analysis of data and their rapid analytical processing with visualization of analysis results in the process of solving applied problems in the field of information technologies;
  • the ability to analyze and functionally model business processes, build and put into practice the functional models of organizational, economic and production-technical systems, methods for assessing the risks of system design, the synthesis of complex systems based on the use of its computer model;
  • the ability to implement high-performance computing based on cloud services and technologies, parallel and distributed computing in the development and operation of distributed systems of parallel processing of information.
