A laboratory of sports medicine and physical rehabilitation was opened at NURE

On May 14, a grand opening of a new educational and scientific laboratory of sports medicine and physical rehabilitation for students and staff with disabilities of the Department of Biomedical Engineering took place at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics. The opening of the only laboratory of sports medicine and physical rehabilitation in Kharkiv became possible thanks to the international cooperation of the BME Department, the assistance of the administration of the University of Radio Electronics and the Department of Physical Education and Sports.

“The opening of the laboratory for us is connected with the most important events: last year NURE celebrated its 90th anniversary, this year – the 50th anniversary of the BME department. In the nearest future, the laboratory will be named “Motorica” – said Oleg Avrunin, scientific director of the laboratory, Professor, laureate of the State Prize, head of the BME Department.

The activities of the laboratory will contribute to the expansion of the subject of scientific research, to the achievement of fundamental results with a high degree of novelty will create the necessary conditions for the training of qualified specialists, uniting the potential of the two departments, and will also, support and promote a healthy lifestyle at all levels of activity and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development goals.

Within the framework of the University’s Development Strategy, aimed at increasing scientific potential, promoting in world rankings, preserving health and well-being, the laboratory is equipped with modern sports and diagnostic equipment, with the help of which you can not only conduct research but also maintain a sports form, therefore we invite everyone to join scientific work and training.
