This project is carried out under the Seventh Framework Program of the European Union (Seventh framework program). Grant agreement №: 287179,
Execution period 2011 – 2012 years.
The purpose of the project EEGS2 – demonstrate effective use of EGNOS in transport applications, market research information services EGNOS in Eastern Europe, and progress in their road applications based on the use of satellite navigation technologies.
Participants of the project:
 GMV Aerospace and Defence S.A.U. (Spain) – Project Coordinator
 JSC “Russian Space Systems” (Russia)
 Grupo Mecanica del Vuelo Sistemas S.A.U. (Spain),
 ND Consult Ltd. (United Kingdom),
 Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics (Ukraine)
 Main Astronomical Observatory of NASU (Ukraine)
 Romanian Space Agency (Romania)
 Centrum Badan Kosmicznych Polska Akademia Nauk (Poland)
 Universitatea Tehnica a Moldovei (Moldova)
Tasks KNURE:
 experimental evaluation of the effectiveness of technology use EGNOS for aviation and road transport in Ukraine;
 conducting business and market research for the introduction of information and navigation technologies in transport.
Within the framework of solving the problem of assessing the effectiveness of the use of technology EGNOS for aviation and road transport in Ukraine provides:
 obtaining experimental evaluation of the accuracy and reliability of the coordinate determination using a satellite navigation technologies of information EGNOS in Ukraine;
 training and demonstration of effective use of EGNOS for aviation, first of all, at the stage of landing;
 training and demonstration of effective use of EGNOS for the road transport.
Within the framework of solving the problem of the commercial and marketing studies for the introduction of information and navigation technologies in transportation is provided:
 conducting market research on the introduction of information and navigation technologies, in particular EGNOS information services for road transport. Particular attention is paid to the introduction of applications:
• Electronic Fee Collection (EFC) – an automated collection of payment for the stay of the car in the paid zone (using toll roads, car parks, etc.);
• Pay-As-You-Drive (PAYD) – automated determination of the intensity of use of a vehicle, driving style, etc., and the use of these data for the organization of flexible insurance schemes;
• Traffic And Travel Information (TTI) – the rapid provision of drivers of proposals for the selection of routes, information about current road conditions (weather, road works, occurrence of congestion, etc.);
 marketing research information services for the implementation of EGNOS for aviation;
 development of market demand business model and business plan for the introduction of satellite navigation technologies using the information EGNOS, in the trucking industry and aviation;
 development of a roadmap for the implementation of information services EGNOS in the transport sector of Ukraine agreement with the plans for the creation and dissemination in Ukraine of the regional information and analytical monitoring and traffic management, and implementation of the State target scientific and technical program of creating “the State integrated information system for management of moving” objects (communication, navigation, surveillance). “
