Linnaeus-Palme is a programme for university teachers and students at first-cycle (Bachelor’s) and second-cycle (Master’s) levels, to encourage long-term collaboration based on the mutual benefits of partnerships between higher education institutions (HEIs) in Sweden and those in developing countries. These collaborations are conducted in project form and build upon teacher and student exchanges.
The aim of the Linnaeus-Palme Programme is to raise the quality of higher education by integrating global perspectives into the learning process, helping prepare Sweden and its collaborative partners to face global challenges.
Students who participate in exchanges are expected to be better prepared for working in a global context.
Teachers who participate in exchanges are expected to use and disseminate their own global knowledge and that of their students, both inside and outside the classroom. Overall, this should lead to international experience being utilised in the work of the department.
Each project should have a definite academic purpose to the collaboration. The concept of mutuality is central to Linnaeus-Palme; both parties must be able to have an equal partnership for mutual benefit, even if the levels of available resources are very different.
Within this project, students and teachers from different specialties, such as Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Radioelectronics from KNURE had the opportunity to participate in this exchange at Linnaeus University.
