The SCImago laboratory, in partnership with Elsevier, the world’s largest scientific publishing house, has released another edition of the international rating of scientific organizations The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) 2018.
This year KNURE took 13th place out of 25 scientific organizations of Ukraine, represented in the rating.
In 2017, the University was ranked 15th out of 24 organizations.
SCImago is considered one of the most objective ratings, since experts assess scientific organizations, educational institutions, research centers not on their applications, but according to information from international databases. The inclusion criterion is that the institutions had published at least 100 works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period.
A total of 3230 universities are represented in the rating.
The SCImago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a classification of academic and research-related institutions ranked by a composite indicator that combines three different sets of indicators based on research performance, innovation outputs and societal impact measured by their web visibility.
Research – this group includes eight criteria, the total weight ratio of which is 50%. The information source is the Scopus database.
Innovation – this group includes three criteria, the total weight ratio of which is 30%. The source of the information is the database of the European Patent Office Patstat (http://www.epo.org).
Societal impact – included two web indicators, the total weighting factor – 20%. The sources of information used for the indicators for web visibility are Google and Ahrefs.
