As part of the educational program “Information and Network Engineering,” students learn the principles of building, operating, supporting, maintaining, monitoring and designing a modern network infrastructure. Bachelors receive basic knowledge of basic network technologies (computer multiservice networks, access networks, transportation networks, the Internet, mobile communication networks, the Internet of things) and software development and information processing technologies (databases, web programming, data analysis, etc.) provides in-depth knowledge of the system administration of computer networks, both local and global, including support, maintenance and monitoring of cloud and distributed computing resources.
In the first and second year the foundation is laid for knowledge of network and IT-technologies, the basic principles of building a global information infrastructure.
In the third and fourth year, students study in depth the areas of their choice, which meet modern trends in the IT industry and telecommunications: Internet of Things, mobile networks, DevOps, Web-programming, information technologies in business, Data/Web mining.
Classes in special disciplines take place, in particular, in the specialized laboratories of the department, which are equipped with modern equipment (from companies Ericsson, Cisco, D-Link, Samsung, Altera MAX, ZyXEL, Watson, SunSet, Texas Instruments, etc.) and powerful computers with standard and specialized software.
To consolidate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, students are sent for practical training at Kharkiv leading enterprises of the appropriate profile, including Ukrtelecom, Iskratel-Ukraine, Rivas, 1C-RARUS (TM TELLUR), Maxnet, Lifecell, Datagroup and others.
Skills and competencies that the bachelor will have in the educational information network engineering program:
- Analysis of the characteristics of individual elements of the network infrastructure and characteristics of networks in general.
- Design, installation, operation of multiservice fixed and mobile networks of the next generation of any scale (personal, local, corporate, global) with a comprehensive use of all modern technologies, including optical.
- Deployment, administration and security of computer networks.
- Administration and support of servers (Windows and Linux).
- Maintenance and monitoring of distributed environments, efficient use of cloud infrastructure.
- Development and testing of software and Web services.
- Coordination of the process of development and delivery of software with the operation, automation of these processes.
- Effective use of modern IT-technologies in corporate solutions;
- Consultation and assistance in the analysis, creation and use of network infrastructure.
Our students regularly take part in All-Ukrainian student competitions and contests of student scientific research works and become winners. In particular, our students are winners of the competition “Professionals of the Future”, etc. The winners receive nominal scholarships, one-time awards and valuable prizes.
Within the part of the international program “Erasmus +”, the best graduates receive double diplomas from our university and other foreign universities, in particular, Warsaw Polytechnics, from the technical universities of Wildau (Germany), Lille (France), and Pardubice University (Czech Republic).
