Despite the challenges posed by martial law, NURE is continuing its strategic focus on digital transformation and on developing its own infrastructure. A presentation was held at the university, confirming NURE’s status as a leader in implementing cutting-edge technologies in the educational environment.
Oleksandr Stepin, an engineer Centre for Information Systems and Technologies, presented a new programme for automating HR department processes to the university’s management, including Rector Ihor Ruban. The development is based on the powerful low-code platform ORACLE APEX.
The implementation of this module within the ‘University’ IAS system will significantly speed up HR administration, minimise the human factor and create a transparent personnel management system. This module is another step towards creating a “paperless university”, where even in difficult times, business processes remain uninterrupted and up-to-date.
The solution presented directly aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 9 – “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”. This goal involves creating resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialisation, and fostering innovation.
Modernising the university’s management system through the IAS makes the administrative infrastructure more resilient to external threats.
The use of ORACLE APEX demonstrates the university’s commitment to global technological standards and low-code solutions, which are driving forces behind the digital economy.
The development by the Centre for Information and Scientific Technologies is an example of how in-house scientific and technical innovations are transforming management and boosting efficiency.
“Today, when Kharkiv suffers from enemy shelling daily, we have no right to stop. On the contrary, we must become stronger from within”, said Rector Ihor Ruban. “The digitalisation of HR processes is important in terms of convenience, data security and resource savings”.
NURE demonstrates that the university thrives and develops under any circumstances, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.
The post NURE is modernising its HR management and strengthening its infrastructure first appeared on NURE.

On 3 December 2025, Child Rights Protection Center in Kharkiv was opened at NURE. This multifunctional space, operating as the public reception office of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Kharkiv region, was created to support children who have suffered from war or witnessed violence. The Center operates according to the international ‘Barnahus’ model.
This landmark event highlights the important role of NURE not only as an educational and scientific centre but also as an institution that is actively involved in solving social problems in the frontline region. Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets attended the solemn opening ceremony.
The Center was established with the assistance of international partners, whose presence demonstrates a shared global commitment to protecting children in wartime. Among the guests were Gaël Vessier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Ukraine, Kristin Enstad, Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway, Munir Mammadzade, Head of the UNICEF Office in Ukraine, Mayor of Kharkiv Ihor Terekhov, and Representative of the Commissioner in the Kharkiv region Olena Sibilova.

The university was represented at the event by Rector of NURE Igor Ruban, who received a letter of thanks from Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets for his assistance in opening the Center.
‘The opening of such a Center at our university is a recognition of our active civic position and trust on the part of state and international institutions. We understand our responsibility and are ready to provide space and the necessary resources for such an important social initiative aimed at supporting the future of Ukraine – our children,’ emphasised Igor Ruban.
Natalia Dashenkova, head of the social and psychological service at NURE, employee of the Center for Gender Education, scientific consultant to the Service for Accessibility to Educational Opportunities “NURE without barriers”, is a member of the Expert Council under the Representative of the Human Rights Commissioner in the Kharkiv region. The Expert Council is a permanent consultative and advisory body that provides expert (scientific, advisory) support to the Representative on human rights issues, allowing it to directly influence the improvement of the child rights protection system by combining a scientific approach with practice.
The post Child Rights Protection Center first appeared on NURE.

Today, 3 December, NURE joins the global community in celebrating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

This day is intended to remind us all of the importance of equal opportunities, respect and mutual support. It draws society’s attention to the fact that every person, regardless of their health or developmental characteristics, has the right to a fulfilling life, education, work, creativity and participation in the community.

As part of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the NURE Accessibility Service, “NURE without Barriers”, organised the provision of humanitarian and financial assistance to students with disabilities. An offline information event was held to commemorate the history of the proclamation of the day and to review the success stories of outstanding individuals with disabilities.

At the NURE museum, Tetyana Blinova, head of the accessibility service “NURE without Barriers”, gave a presentation about the day and its history.

Alina Ovchenko, an engineer of the accessibility service “NURE without Barriers”, presented inspiring success stories of people with disabilities.

This day, proclaimed by the UN in 1992, is not a holiday. It is an essential call to action, reminding us that disability is just one aspect of human diversity, not a sentence or an obstacle to a fulfilling life.

On 17 November 2025, NURE hosted an online meeting entitled «Dialogues on Tolerance» dedicated to International Tolerance Day.

The meeting discussed issues related to the culture of mutual respect, tolerance and accessibility:

How to create an atmosphere of acceptance at the university;

Metaphors of tolerance: garden (diversity), orchestra (cooperation), glasses (empathy);

The importance of emotional intelligence.

Key thoughts from the meeting:

«A person does not have to be like someone else to be worthy».

«Don’t be afraid to be unusual – it’s normal».

Respect for the experience, boundaries and opinions of others is a basic condition for cooperaotin.

The second part was devoted to the topic of accessibility.

The main conclusion is that tolerance is essentially a matter of perception. Accessibility is about action.

The meeting was organised by the accessibility service «NURE without restrictions» in conjunction with the NURE Museum, and was conducted by guest speakers from Kyiv: Natalia Syrotich, PhD, psychologist at the Caritas-Kyiv Charitable Foundation, art therapist, author of 16 books.

Yosafata Syrotich is an ambassador for accessibility in Ukraine as part of the nationwide social change campaign «Accessibility is when you can», initiated by the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska.
