<p>From 1982 to 2017 he was the executive or the head of the sections of research work, in particular: “Development of a complex of mathematical models of socio-economic development of the region taking into account the efficiency of the use of infrastructure and communal resources“, ”Development of principles, methodology of designing and creation of the information-analytical system of decision-making support in the management of socio-economic development of the region“, “Development of theoretical bases of designing decision-support systems in the management of socio-economic development of the region”, “Development of mathematical models and methods of system structural topological synthesis of regional geographically distributed objects”, “Structural synthesis of geographically distributed objects in conditions of incomplete data certainty”, “Development of mathematical models and methods of reengineering of topological structures of geographically distributed objects”.</p>
<p>From 1996 to 2015, he was a scientific secretary, and from 2015 – chairman of the specialized scientific council D 64.052.02 on defending doctoral and candidate dissertations at the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics.</p>
<p>Since 2022 – Member of the specialized scientific council D 64.089.04 at Kharkiv National University of Urban Economy named after O.M. Beketov.</p>
<p>Member of the Presidium of the Scientific and Technical Council of KhNURE.</p>
<p>Member of the editorial boards of the scientific journal “The Current State of Scientific Research and Technology in Industry”. <p style="text-align: justify;">Lecture courses: methods and tools for the analysis of multivariate data, special chapters of information technologies for systems engineering, Systems Analysis, Numerical methods, Introduction to Speciality.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Researcher activity</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Research interests: Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, data logical modelling, decision making with data uncertainties.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Research results: prof Sytnikov has developed methods for solving logic equations with parameters, methods for generating association rules in databases, algebraic methods for the description of information objects in the context of rough set theory.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Ph. D. student supervisor, speciality “05.13.23 – artificial intelligence systems and tools» – O. Titova (2005).</p>

<h3><strong>International activity / participation in international projects</strong></h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">has been many times invited for delivering lectures, supervising seminars, organizing international conferences and supervising master students in institutes of Italy, the UK and Japan.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">He has been invited as a guest editor by the international journals “Expert Systems” and “International Journal for Infonomics”.</p>
