Travelling to Kharkiv
Kharkiv is the second-largest city of Ukraine, located in the north-east of the country.
Kharkiv is a major cultural, scientific, educational, transport and industrial centre of Ukraine, with 60 scientific institutes, 30 establishments of higher education, 6 museums, 7 theatres and 80 libraries. The Distance between Kiev (the capital of Ukraine) and Kharkov is 409.06 km.
Travel to both cities is by train and by bus. Train service from Kiev to Kharkiv costs 16 Euro one way. There are also provisions for quick and easy transport to various parts of the city and other regions of the country.
The optimum amount of living expenses is connected with a balanced budget, including subsistence costs, accommodation costs, medical services, public transport, food and public services, and other expenses. Minimum living costs are achieved through the use of the refectory and through modest expenses for transport and other public services. Under these conditions, the average living expenses amount to 150 – 250 Euro per month.
The KNURE offers on-campus accommodation for 450 students during the academic year. Erasmus students are accommodated in student hostels №1 and 2. Incoming students state their wish for accommodation in the Erasmus application form so that a place is reserved for them.
