Department of Informatics
The Department was founded in 1964, but it began functioning legally in 1977 and was named Computer Application Department by the Rector’s order. In October, 1977 the Department was headed by Dr. Yevhen P. Putiatin. In 1999 it got the name of Informatics Department. The Department is major for the students specializing in Informatics; at the same time it provides general education for the rest who study programming.
Complex training of the three educational qualification levels:
Bachelor - Specialist on Information Technology in the area of training 6.040302 - informatics;
Specialist - Engineer on Computers Applying with a degree 7.04030201 - informatics;
Master - Researcher (Computer Engineering) with a degree 8.04030201 - informatics.
Scientific directions of the department - the development of mathematical models of processing of complex information, development of methods and algorithms for image processing and recognition for computer vision systems and robotic systems.
