About the faculty
There are 124 teachers (68 Cand. Sc. and associate professors, 31 D. Sc., professor) and 1100 students in the School. The School was founded in 1966, when the Kharkov Institute of Mining Machinery Automation and Computer Engineering was reorganized into the Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics. Then on its basis six Schools were formed, including the School of Automation and Instrument Engineering. Later the School was renamed into the School of Control System. In 1995, the School was given its current name. The structure of the School includes the following five Departments: Department of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Department of Information Control System (ICS), Department of Media Systems and Technologies (MST), Department of Software Engineering (SE), Department of System Engineering (Syst.Eng.).
The School ensures training for Bachelor’s, Specialist’s and Master’s Degrees.

The School offers classes in more than 15 student scientific societies. For many years students of the School have participated and won prizes in team and individual contests in computer science and programming (both Ukrainian and international). The School operates 12 cutting-edge problem-oriented laboratories. The students of the School undergo internship and take part in exchange programs with leading universities in the world ( the Netherlands, Finland, Russia, the UK, France, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Poland). Foreign students get Master Degree in the School. Students can be taught in Russian, Ukrainian and English.
Science and international cooperation
Over the past ten years, teachers and research engineers have published 2755 articles, 55 monographs and textbooks. 86 candidates and doctors of science were prepared by the School scientific advisers.
The School cooperates with the world leaders of ІT-industry, including EPAM Systems, Nіx Solutіons, Mіcrosoft Ukraіne, Sіgma Ukraіne, VData Gmb, ІBM. Scientists keep in touch with researchers all over the world and carry out joint projects. High quality education is based not only on cutting-edge material and technical base, highly qualified teaching staff but also on wide international links which helps students, postgraduate students and teachers to study and train in the world’s leading universities.
