KIST International R&D Academy (IRDA) Program in Korea

KIST International R&D Academy (IRDA) Program in Korea. The program for students and graduate students of NURE implemented with the active support of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Korea. 

Directions of the programme:

  • Biological Chemistry
  • Biomedical Engineering
  • Clean Energy and Chemical Engineering
  • Energy and Environmental Engineering
  • HCI and Robotics
  • Nanomaterials Science and Engineering
  • Neuroscience 


$ 1,100 per month for students and $ 1,500 per month for graduate students.

Participants are provided with

  • Free accommodation (if you want to live off campus, the Korean side carries an extra charge to the scholarship);
  • Medical insurance,
  • The benefits of movement in the country. 

Requirements for participants:

  • Students must take 5′s and post-graduate courses;
  • GPA 4.5 and above;
  • TOEFL certificate (CBT 213) or IELTS (6.00);
  • Conducting research activities;
  • Recommendation of the department to the candidate participation in the program. 

Required documents:

The list of required documents for the master degree:

  • Information about the student;
  • Statement;
  • A letter of recommendation;
  • The official passing score in English (TOEFL \ IELTS);
  • Copy of the passport;
  • Bachelor’s Certificate;
  • Transcript of undergraduate programs (for students with a Diploma Supplement European model, this document is not binding, it will be necessary to assure the application at the Faculty / Institute, who gave it to you);
  • Certificate of career (if any). 

Documents required for graduate studies:

  • Information about the student;
  • Statement;
  • A letter of recommendation;
  • The official passing score in English (Certificate of proficiency in English (or TOEFL and IELTS: passing at least a CBT TOEFL 213, TOEFL iBT 79, IELTS 6.0);
  • Copy of the passport;
  • Certificate of career (if any);
  • Degree certificate (expected);
  • Transcript of graduate programs;
  • The thesis for a master’s degree. (Must be provided only the names of works and essays. If you are allowed to earn a degree without writing a thesis in accordance with University Regulations, you must provide the appropriate documentation).
  • Scientific achievements. (Publications include presentations at scientific conferences and intellectual property (if available). Publications should contain information about the author, summaries and annotations.
  • Technical report: provide information about the annotations and essays.

* Completing the online questionnaire is open to all candidates who meet the requirements of the program and with the recommendation of the department to participate in the program.
