Educational activity

Teaches cources: telecommunications and information networks, planning and the design of information networks. Supervising of students in drafting their final theses.

Research activities

The main directions of scientific activity:

  • information and analytical activities for the collection, analysis and information generalization about radio monitoring objects, radio electronic means and their radio emissions;
  • theory and technology of receiving and processing of signal information in conditions of a priori uncertainty;
  • principles, methods, technical ways of creating promising systems and means of radio monitoring and radio countermeasures;
  • complex processing of signal and coordinate information about the electromagnetic-object environment;
  • estimation of the effectiveness of systems and radio monitoring means of electromagnetic-object environment;
  • using of radio frequency resource and electromagnetic compatibility of radio electronic means;

According to the directions, the following  results were obtained under the leadership and direct participation of the author:

  • broadband devices for panoramic reception and time-frequency analysis of unknown signals were developed (1979-1987);
  • highly effective devices and systems for the formation of active efficient interference (1985-1992) were developed;
  • substantiated the main directions for the development of  electronic warfare and radio-еlectronic reconnaissance in the weapons program (1993-2004);
  • the expert system of the modeling integrated assessment of the electromagnetic-object environment (2001-2007);
  • Information and analytical system “RESURS” was created to support decision-making on the planning and use of state radio frequency resources (2006-2010);
  • a methodical apparatus was developed and measurements of the main characteristics and parameters of the receiving devices of the existing radio monitoring stations of the AIK-SP, AIK-SP6 and UMS-100 (2011) radiations were developed;
  • IT-technology (methodology, knowledge base, database) for the estimation of the functioning effectiveness of nationality radio-frequency monitoring systems (2010-2012);
  • IT-technology of decision-making support was created at planning systems and conducting radio-frequency monitoring of electromagnetic-object environment (2012-2014);
  • IT-technology of complex recognition of radio-emitting objects was created using the methods of statistical radio engineering and artificial intelligence (2015-2017).

The effectiveness of all developments is officially confirmed with military, polygon and departmental tests, including the implementation of research missions on the Central European theater (7 times) and long-distance sea trips in the Pacific theater (3 times).

The experience of scientific activity is more than 30 years. Participated in tests of new models of weapons and military equipment at the Balkhash, Donguzsky test ranges and Kapustin Yar test site of the USSR. Has prepared 4 candidates of sciences. The scientific supervisor of 2 PHD candidates is. He took an active part in the implementation of over 100 research work, and was the Head of half of them.

International activities / participation in international projects

2001-2007, by the order of the state company “Ukroboronexport” and the  Kharkov Military University, the chief developer of the scientific and technical project “The Expert system of noninteracting objects recognition”, performed according to the statement of work of the Southwest Scientific Research Institute of Electronic Technology (Chengdu, China), in accordance with the Contract No. H153UAJ / E017D15K POE-30/046-2001.
