Educational work

Lecture courses: physics- 2 (field theory), electrodynamics and radio wave propagation, standards of channels of information networks.

Scientific work

Scientific interests: high technologies in the field of systems of information transmission and microwave equipment.

Scientific achievements: development of theory of active transmitting antennas and large aperture rectennas, increasing accuracy of position finding of objects by GPS navigation method, propagation of radio waves in street and corridor radio channels; immunities of digital information transmission systems.

Volodymyr M. Shokalo`s personal achievement in experimental work is making the first experiments in Ukraine in energy transmission by a microwave beam. His theoretical and experimental works have been implemented at producing antennas for the aircraft YAK-42, radio electronic equipment for the international cosmic station “Alfa”, a network of GPS stations in Ukraine, developing theories of active transmitting antennas, large aperture rectennas;
increasing accuracy of position finding of objects by methods of GPS navigation; radio wave propagation in street and corridor radio channels; immunities of digital information transmission systems.

Tutorship: 7 candidates of science and 1 doctor of science.

Public and international activity

Editor-in-chief of All-Ukrainian collected articles “Radiotekhnika”, coeditor of the American journal “Telecommunication and Engineering”, head and deputy head of the KhNURE specialized academic councils, member of the expert council of the State Accreditation Commission, section of energetics and electronics, member of the scientific and technical council of the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sport of Ukraine of the direction “Radio Engineering” and “Systems of Technical Information Security”, member of the International Academies of Communication and Applied Radio Electronics (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus).
