Cooperation with Turkey in the Sphere of Education will Continue to Develop

October, 2, The Honorary Consul of Ukraine in Izmir (Turkey) Mr.Hikmet Cetin Guvercin visited the Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics.

Honorable guest met the acting Rector Natalia Lesnaya discussed the results of cooperation in education. Both sides noted the necessity of its further strengthening and development.

It should be noted that in 2010 the diploma of our University among the first universities of Ukraine was voted into the Council for higher education of the Turkish Republic. It happened thanks to help and support at the state level, which was given to us by Mr. Guvercin. Thanks to his fruitful work during the last four years KNURE is represented at all educational international exhibitions both in Turkey and in other countries.

Recognition of the diploma of our University in Turkey and the assistance provided to Mr. Guvercin helped us to sign cooperation agreements with the University Yashar (Izmir) and the University of Bilkent (Ankara). For technical equipment and level of training of students these universities are not inferior to European universities. Cooperation with them opens wide perspectives: academic exchanges, internships for young scholars, joint scientific projects, and also, it is possible the further practical implementation of the project «dual degree». It not only has a positive impact on the image of the University, but also allows to increase the number of foreign students. In the recent years, 142 students from Turkey finished the pre-University preparation course at our University. Currently 43 Turkish students study on different specialties of a bachelor’s level.

During the meeting, Consul was awarded an Honorary badge of the University for assistance in strengthening the international image of the University. He met with the students of educational institutions of Turkey, listened to their wishes and suggestions.

The visit was concluded with a concert prepared by creative collectives of the University.
