NSA KNURE Holds Awards Ceremony


The Nigerian Students’ Association of the Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, KNURE on the 24th of May, 2013 held the maiden edition of her Awards Ceremony at the university auditorium on the 3rd floor.

The event which marked the end of a 2-week long sports festival featured lots of presentations and speeches by the University Management, the Students’ Union and the Union of Nigerian Citizens in Kharkov.

Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of awards to deserving students. Some of the awards presented include; Best and Most vibrant student in all the departments, Ivory and Ebony King and Queen, Cutest Boy and Girl, Most valuable Sport man and Sport woman, Most popular male and female student, Best comedian, Best clique male and female, fashionista male and female among others. Others include special recognition and award of certificates to some lecturers and students who have assisted foreigners in our university.

There were presentation of songs and comedy by student artists.

The event brought together foreigners, lectures, students and Ukrainians from the different universities in Kharkiv who came to witness the awards presentation, the first of its kind in Kharkiv.

It had in attendance the deputy dean of foreign students in KHURE, Mrs. Lana Morozova, the President of the union of Nigerian Citizens in Kharkiv Dr. Wilson Otasowia, Certified agents of the university Mr. Brian Emenike and Mr. Akim. All of who praised the leadership of the NSA for their vision and selfless leadership.

Responding, the President of the NSA KHURE Mr. Stanley Iyawe thanked the guests and all the participants for honouring the invitation, he also praised the members of the executive council for their efforts describing them as second to none. He also used the opportunity to announce that a new leadership will soon emerge to take over the running of the affairs of the association and called on interested students to send in their application.

The event was followed by an after party at club Vintage.
