THE DELEGATION FROM MOROCCO TO NURE
On 06.01.2016 a meeting was held with the leadership of NURE and Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Morocco – Mohamed El Idrissi, representatives of Cadi Ayyad Morocco University in the face of the vice-rector pr. Fatima Zohra Iflahen and Dean of theFaculty of Medicine and Pharmacy pr. Mohamed Khaled Chulli.Cadi Ayyad University is one of the largest universities in Morocco, specializing in engineering and scientific research. It is in the top-700 universities in the world in 2016 according to TheWorldUniversityRankings. The university includes 13 institutions, with an enrollment of more than 60 000 students. Scientists of the University not only opened a few comets, but also created a lithium-ion battery manufactured only from materials of Moroccan origin.
The key issue of the meeting was to discuss joint research and training of students for solar power plants, Biomedical Engineering, web design and computer science.
On February 5, 2016 The King of Morocco Mohammed VI opened a solar power plant, which will be the largest in the world when it will pass into operation in 2020. It will produce 500 megawatts of electricity, which is comparable with nuclear power. And by 2030, Morocco plans to cover 52% of its electricity needs from renewable energy, and thus reduce imports of oil and other energy resources.
During discussing the cooperation various joint academic and educational programs, joint projects; the possibility of obtaining a double diploma; writing joint grant applications; mobility of students and teachers; joint publications were carried out.
