Students of NURE have finished the summer school on cybersecurity

Students of the Faculty of Telecommunications and measuring technology of NURE participated in the International Summer School of IT security, held under the auspices of the TEMPUS project ENGENSEC

International Summer School was held from June 27 to July 8, 2016 at the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, and attracted students from technical universities in Sweden (Blekinge Institute of Technology), Poland (Wroclaw Technical University) and Ukraine (State University of telecommunications, National University “Lviv Polytechnic” and NURE).

For two weeks, students were participating in the summer school by ENGENSEC project and have been introduced with a new theoretical material and conducted a series of laboratory work, related to various aspects of IT security, including areas such as digital forensics, testing for protection against unauthorized access and ethical hacking, network and “cloud”security analysis of malicious software and Web-security.

International Summer School was held from June 27 to July 8, 2016 at the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”, and attracted students from technical universities in Sweden (Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona), Poland (Wroclaw Technical University, Votslav) and Ukraine (State University of telecommunications, Kiev, National University “Lviv Polytechnic” and KNURE).

For two weeks, students participating in the summer school ENGENSEC project introduced a new theoretical material and conducted a series of laboratory work, related to various aspects of IT security, including areas such as digital forensics, testing for protection against unauthorized access and ethical hacking, network and ” cloud “security analysis of malicious software and Web security.

All courses are offered to students have been developed within the project ENGENSEC and included many innovative solutions in response to the science and practice of current cyber security threats.

The classes were conducted by leading experts in the field of IT security in Sweden (Anders Carlson, Kurt Truskans from Blekinge Institute of Technology presented the course “Digital Forensics” and “Network and “cloud” security”), Poland (Tomasz Surmach from Wrocław University of Technology introduced a course on “Developing secure software “) and Ukraine (Oksana Evseev Alexander Adamov of Kharkov University of Radio electronics presented the course” Network and “cloud” security “and” Analysis of malicious software, “Adrian Piskozub of the national University” Lviv Polytechnic “has presented the course” Testing for protection from unauthorized access and ethical hacking “).

As a final exam for the students was organized by the Olympic Games, followed by the award of prizes to reward the winners. All the participants of the Summer School have successfully coped with the proposed objectives. As a result, each participant was awarded an official certificate confirming participation in an international summer school and the certificate of the receipt of three additional ECTS credits.

During the summer school students of Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics gained unique expertise in the field of IT security, communication and exchange of ideas, experience with foreign students. offered to students have been developed within the project ENGENSEC and include many innovative solutions in response to the science and practice of current cyber security threats.
