The delegation of the Kharkiv National University of Radioеlectronics held a series of meetings in Morocco in order to expand the international relations of the University. The Ukrainian Embassy in Morocco was held a working meeting of Vice-Rector of the University of Stanislav Ignatiev and Director of International Cooperation Department Ellina Medynska with the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Morocco Yaroslav Koval.

“Today, Ukraine and its education system is more and more attracted to the Moroccan youth because of its balance between a high level preparation of students in higher education and an acceptable cost, and open society to foreigners, and mental similarities,” – said the Ambassador of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Morocco Yaroslav Koval. – “This is confirmed by the constant increase of the number of visas that Ukrainian diplomatic institution gives for future students: from 403 visas in 2014 to 1247 visas in 2015″.

The diplomat explained that the graduates of the Kingdom choose Kharkiv with great enthusiasm, because only in this city about 1,000 immigrants from Morocco are studying. Here Ukraine is a winner in the market of knowledge economy, successfully competing with the neighbors: Poland, Romania and the Russian Federation.

In the initial stages, Moroccan students were interested in gaining knowledge in medicine and pharmacy, where Ukraine has already trained thousands of professionals. At the same time, the rapid growth of the economy of the Kingdom of Morocco, the creation of a growing number of infrastructure projects, particularly in the field of energy, requires a greater number of highly qualified engineering personnel.

“A significant challenge for NURE is to become a competitive educational center for training in engineering, in particular in the field of high technology, such as IT, automation of production and alternative energy”, – said Yaroslav Koval.

It should be noted that during the visit NURE plans to open a permanent office in the Kingdom of Morocco, as well as meet with the leadership of the universities in the cities of Rabat, Fez and Marrakech with a view to conclude agreements on cooperation and discuss the program of specific measures for the development of international cooperation, including double degree programs.

Thus, the Kharkiv National University of Radioelectronics continues an active program of international development and defends its own position as a world-class educational center.
